Planning a Working Holiday in Finland requires considering both official fees and a series of additional expenses necessary for a successful application. For a personalized breakdown and assistance in the process, you can visit Volare's Finland Working Holiday section.

Official fees by nationality
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) establishes the following fees for processing the residence permit:
Australia, Canada, and Japan: The official cost is 530 € if the application is submitted digitally via Enter Finland, or 630 € if the paper format is chosen.
New Zealand: Its citizens enjoy a historical exemption, so the Migri fee is 0 €.
It is important to note that these amounts correspond only to the processing right and do not guarantee the approval of the visa.
External expenses and additional costs
Although Migri's fees are the most visible expense, the real cost of the visa is significantly higher due to operational and legal requirements. All applicants must consider the following external costs:
Biometrics and management: Fee payments to external service centers such as VFS Global or travel expenses to the Finnish diplomatic mission for the mandatory capture of fingerprints and photography.
Health insurance: The high cost of acquiring a comprehensive private medical insurance policy with a 12-month validity (mandatory for almost all nationalities).
Documentation: Costs of sworn translators if the original documents are not issued in English, Finnish, or Swedish, as well as possible legalizations through the Hague Apostille.
The return ticket requirement
Within the cost structure, the applicant must consider the expense of international transport. It is a mandatory requirement to prove possession of a return ticket already paid for or, failing that, to have the equivalent additional funds to purchase it in the future.
Please remember that for the application to be processed, you must also prove the minimum maintenance funds of 2,450 euros for the first months of the stay.
