đŸ‡©đŸ‡° Denmark Confirms Opening Dates for Working Holiday 2026

VOLARE GLOBAL NEWSROOM | February 12, 2026

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) issued the most anticipated official statement for the travel community this morning: the definitive schedule for opening quotas for the Working Holiday (WHV) 2026 program. In a year marked by high competitiveness and the premature closure of other European destinations, Denmark positions itself as the primary goal for thousands of young people.

OPENING SCHEDULE: DATES BY REGION

The rollout of new quotas will be carried out in stages. Migration authorities urge applicants to have their forms ready, as demand is expected to exhaust the spots in record time.

🌎 Latin America (Argentina and Chile)

  • Critical Date: March 1, 2026.

  • Status: Limited spots.

  • Report: For Chilean and Argentine citizens, the system will operate on a strict first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended to start the Case Order ID payment process at least 48 hours before this date to avoid server saturation.

🌐 English-Speaking Countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand)

  • Date: Continuous open system (Rolling basis).

  • Status: Stable availability.

  • Strategy: Despite not having an abrupt "closing" date, current processing times suggest applying 4 months in advance.

🌏 Asia (Japan and South Korea)

  • Date: February 15, 2026.

  • Status: Critical spots alert.

  • Important Note: This process is exclusive to residents in these regions.

EDITOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DAY 1

To avoid automatic rejection by SIRI, the Volare Global team recommends:

  1. Shielded Medical Insurance: The policy must cover exactly 365 days (minimum €30,000 + repatriation). A single day's difference is grounds for denial.

  2. Certified Solvency: Have a bank statement of 15,000 DKK in the holder's name with an issuance date no older than 15 days.

  3. Document Checklist: Verify that the passport has the suggested 2 years of extra validity to avoid cuts in the visa duration.
