Documentary Requirements for the Poland Working Holiday Visa

Updated: May 12

Volare Editorial Staff | May 11, 2026

Volare presents a technical analysis of the composition of the documentary file necessary to access the Republic of Poland's Working Holiday program. The correct organization of files is a determining factor for the admissibility of the process before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and successful processing in the e-konsulat portal.

Universal File Requirements

Regardless of the applicant's nationality, there is a mandatory documentary base that constitutes the core of the application for the National Visa Type D:

  • Passport: Original valid document with at least two blank pages. Validity must extend at least three months after the planned date of departure from Poland (except for Taiwan, which requires 15 months).

  • e-konsulat Form: Form generated, printed, and signed through the official consular registration system.

  • Medical Insurance: International policy with minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR including hospitalization and medical repatriation for the 12 months of stay (Canada requires 50,000 CAD).

  • Proof of Solvency: Bank statements for the last three months accrediting the maintenance funds required by each treaty.

Technical Specifications by Nationality

Each bilateral agreement imposes additional filters that must be strictly met to avoid administrative rejection:

  • Argentina and Chile: Must present an official criminal record certificate with the Hague Apostille, a motivation letter validating the tourist purpose of the trip, and the payment of the fee in cash on the day of the appointment.

  • Australia: Requires a birth certificate, government support letter, university degree (or certificate of two completed years), and a certificate of communicative English level. Criminal records must also be apostilled.

  • Canada: Under the Youth Mobility Program, it is mandatory to attach a curriculum vitae and the signed YMP Declaration. Medical insurance must be 50,000 CAD, with no deductibles, and accompanied by an official letter from the insurer.

  • South Korea: Requires a criminal record certificate and an official medical examination ruling out pathologies from the 2005 International Health Regulations.

  • Japan: Must present a curriculum vitae, a detailed itinerary of activities, and a one-page motivation letter (A4 format). This process is exempt from consular fees.

  • New Zealand: Includes a signed ratification declaration of adherence to Article 5 of the bilateral treaty.

  • Taiwan: The travel and activity plan must be structured entirely in English. The passport must have a minimum validity of 15 months at the time of application.

International Transport Support

A critical component for visa approval is safety in logistical planning. The applicant must duly prove international transport support by presenting a confirmed return flight ticket (pasaje) reservation at the end of their stay. In the event of not having the ticket at the time of the appointment, it is mandatory to demonstrate, through the economic funds in the bank account, the possession of additional and sufficient capital intended exclusively to ensure the future purchase of said ticket. The consular officer evaluates this financial consistency as a guarantee of the intention to return to the country of origin.

Volare reaffirms its commitment to providing technical clarity on international mobility regulations, facilitating safe documentary preparation adjusted to Polish standards.
