Funds Guide for the Argentina Working Holiday Visa

Updated: Mar 27

Volare Editorial | March 26, 2026

One of the essential requirements when applying for the Working Holiday Visa to enter Argentina is the demonstration of financial solvency. This requirement ensures that the applicant has the necessary means to cover their initial stay expenses in the country, such as accommodation, food, and transportation, especially during the first few weeks while settling in and looking for their first job.

Below, you will find the required amount according to the applicant's nationality and the accepted methods to present this documentation to the Argentine consular authorities.

Fund requirements by country

The required amounts vary depending on the bilateral agreement established with each nation. The official information for the "Funds" column is as follows:

  • Ireland: Sufficient funds to support yourself (€ 1,500 required) + Return ticket or funds to purchase it.

  • Japan: Sufficient funds to support yourself (USD 2,000 required) + Return ticket or funds to purchase it.

  • South Korea: Sufficient funds to support yourself (USD 3,000 required) + Return ticket or funds to purchase it.

  • New Zealand: Sufficient funds to support yourself (NZD 4,200 required) + Return ticket or funds to purchase it.

  • Rest of the countries: Sufficient funds to support yourself (€ 2,500 / USD 2,500 required) + Return ticket or funds to purchase it.

How can I demonstrate my funds?

For the proof of funds to be valid and approved by the Argentine consulate, the following criteria must be strictly met:

  • Account ownership: The money must be in a bank account exclusively in the name of the visa applicant. Bank statements from third parties, family members, friends, or corporate accounts are not accepted.

  • Required documentation: A recent bank statement (from the last 3 months) clearly showing the final available balance must be presented.

  • Document format: If the statement is obtained in person, it is highly recommended that it be stamped and signed by the bank. If it is a digital statement (home banking), it must have clear information from the entity or a valid verification code.

  • Language and translation (Mandatory): The document must be issued in Spanish, English, or failing that, be accompanied by an official translation into Spanish carried out by a certified public translator.
