List of documents to submit for the Hungary WHV

Having a complete and correctly organized document folder is the most important step to ensure success in your application for the Working Holiday Visa for Hungary. Since agreements vary by nationality, requirements are divided into specific groups to facilitate the management of the process.

Requirements by country groups

Below is the documentation required according to the agreement corresponding to each nationality:

Groups 1 and 2: Argentina, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia

• Official application form completed and signed.

• Valid passport (with at least 3 months of extra validity at the end of the stay).

• One recent photograph.

• Apostilled and translated criminal record certificate.

• Bank statements demonstrating own funds.

• Medical insurance with coverage of 30,000 EUR.

• Initial accommodation reservation.

• For citizens of Australia: Tertiary education degree or minimum of 2 years of complete university studies, in addition to accrediting a functional level of English through a passport or school certificates.

Group 3: Colombia

• Official application form and valid passport.

• One recent photograph.

• Apostilled and translated criminal record certificate.

• Bank statements (USD 3,000 suggested).

• Medical and repatriation insurance for 30,000 EUR.

• Accommodation reservation or invitation letter.

• Letter of intent detailing the motive for tourism and planned activities.

• Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) written entirely in English.

Group 4: Ecuador

• Form and passport (3 months extra validity).

• Recent photo and apostilled criminal record.

• Higher education degree or certificate of 2 years of approved university studies.

• Proof of functional level of English accredited by an official exam.

• Bank statements for the last 3 months (own funds).

• Medical insurance of 30,000 EUR for 12 months.

• Accommodation reservation or invitation letter for the first days.

Group 5: South Korea

• Form, valid passport, and one recent photograph.

• Criminal record certificate.

• Own or parents' bank statements (presenting proof of family ties).

• Medical and repatriation insurance for 30,000 EUR.

• Initial accommodation reservation.

• General health certificate issued by a general practitioner.

• Official letter of recommendation signed by a professor or government authority.

Group 6: Taiwan

• Form and passport (with 12 months validity upon entry).

• Two recent photographs.

• Diplomatically legalized criminal record certificate (no apostille required).

• Bank statements for the last 3 months and medical insurance of 30,000 EUR.

• Initial accommodation reservation.

• Official health certificate including chest X-ray and immunity tests for rubella and measles.

Transportation logistics and flight ticket reservation

Regardless of the group, all applicants must prove their travel logistics. It is mandatory to present a flight ticket reservation (round trip). If the ticket is not available at the time of the appointment, the possession of sufficient additional economic funds to guarantee the purchase of said ticket to leave Hungarian territory at the end of the allowed year of stay must be reliably demonstrated.

Personal development and academic offer

The submission of educational documents in the groups that require them is not only an administrative step but also opens the door to the local academic offer. The program allows participants to take language courses or short-term studies not exceeding 6 months, facilitating deeper cultural integration while enjoying the period of holiday and work in Hungary.
