One of the most important initial filters is the permitted age range, which varies significantly depending on the bilateral agreement in force with each country of origin:
Australia and Taiwan: Interested young people must be between 18 and 26 years old (inclusive) at the time of submitting their application.
Chile, South Korea, Israel, Japan, and Peru: The range extends from 18 to 30 years old (inclusive).
Canada and New Zealand: These countries have the broadest margin, allowing applications from 18 to 35 years old (inclusive).
Distribution of annual quotas and availability
The Czech Republic assigns a specific number of visas per calendar year. Once this limit is reached, no further applications are processed until the opening of the next official cycle. The distribution of spots is organized as follows:
New Zealand: Leads the list with 1,200 annual quotas.
Canada: Has a limit of 677 spots per year.
Australia: Provides 500 annual vacancies.
Japan: 400 quotas are assigned for its citizens.
South Korea: Has a quota of 300 annual visas.
Chile and Israel: Both countries have 200 spots available each.
Peru and Taiwan: Provide 100 annual vacancies respectively.
The opening of these quotas is governed by the official availability reported by each consular section; therefore, it is recommended to start procedures at the beginning of the year to guarantee a place.
Application procedure and the return ticket
For nationalities including Australia, Chile, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Peru, and Taiwan, the application protocol is strictly formal. The first unavoidable step is obtaining a mandatory prior appointment, which must be managed exclusively via email with the corresponding consular office.
Attendance at the interview is strictly in person, as the Ministry of the Interior requires the capture of biometric data and the submission of the original physical file. Within this file, it is essential to include the reservation or the funds that guarantee the acquisition of the return ticket. The migration authority gives special relevance to transport logistics, so a lack of foresight regarding the return ticket can jeopardize the resolution of the process.
