The success of a migration application lies in documentary precision. Uruguay, through its Vacations and Work agreements, requires a strict dossier that guarantees legal traceability and the safety of participants. Below, we detail the fundamental pieces that must integrate the file according to each nationality.

Universal requirements by country
For most participating nations (Germany, France, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Sweden), the basic list of documents is as follows:
Valid Passport: With a minimum validity covering the entire projected stay.
Visa Form: Completed and duly signed before the consular authority.
Birth Certificate: Original, apostilled, and translated into Spanish.
Criminal Records: Official certificate from the country of origin and previous residences (apostilled and translated).
Proof of Funds: Accreditation of economic solvency (approx. USD 2,500).
Medical Insurance: Policy with comprehensive coverage and medical repatriation.
Health Certificate: Medical certificate of good physical and mental health issued in the country of origin.
Special cases: Australia and New Zealand
Due to specific terms of reciprocity, there are critical variations for these citizens:
Australia: This is the only group that must present an Educational Requirement. Australian applicants must attach evidence of higher education, either through a tertiary degree or an academic transcript proving they have completed at least two years of an undergraduate university degree.
New Zealand: The passport is required to have a minimum validity of 12 months at the time of entry. Likewise, the accreditation of funds must specifically reach NZD 4,200.
Analysis of registry and legal documents
Unlike administrative processes in Europe, Uruguay grants capital importance to the Birth Certificate. This document is indispensable not only for the visa but also for the National Directorate of Civil Identification (DNIC) to issue the identity card once in the national territory. Every certificate must have the Hague Apostille and be translated into Spanish by a public translator registered in Uruguay.
Regarding security, the 5-Year Rule applies. The applicant must present the criminal history of all States where they have resided for more than six months during the last five years. It is vital to remember that the validity of these certificates cannot exceed six months at the time of the appointment before the National Directorate of Migration.
Solvency and health in the consular phase
Finally, the accreditation of resources must be carried out using original and stamped bank statements from the last 30 days; screenshots of mobile applications do not have legal validity. Regarding health, the medical certificate of origin is an immovable step prior to the subsequent obtaining of the occupational health certificate mandatory for working in the Republic. It is equally imperative to present the return ticket or demonstrate sufficient excess funds for its future acquisition.
