To obtain the Belgium Working Holiday Visa, it is strictly mandatory to submit a complete and orderly consular file. The omission of any document or the lack of pertinent legalizations will result in the automatic rejection of the visa application.

General documentary requirements
The general and strict rule for processing the D Visa requires all applicants, regardless of their country of origin, to submit the following base documentation:
Visa D form: Completed, printed, and signed.
Passport: Original document with a minimum validity of 15 months from the planned date of travel and copies of the main pages.
Payment receipts: Official receipts demonstrating the payment of the Administrative fee (approximately 242 euros) and the Consular fee (180 euros).
Medical Certificate: Document in official format that certifies the good health of the applicant.
Financial Solvency: Demonstration of funds for initial support for a minimum of 2,500 euros through official bank statements.
Travel Insurance: Policy with Schengen coverage for the entire stay (12 months).
Specific requirements by nationality
In addition to the general documentation, consular regulations establish specific requirements and variations depending on the country of origin:
Passport-size photographs: 2 photographs are required for applicants from Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, and New Zealand. Exceptionally, citizens of Australia must submit 3 photographs.
Criminal record certificate:
Taiwan: Requires consular legalization and official translation.
South Korea: Requires Hague Apostille and official translation.
Canada: Requires the original RCMP police certificate with fingerprints and Hague Apostille.
Australia: Requires the original AFP police certificate without fingerprints and Hague Apostille.
New Zealand: Requires the original certificate with Hague Apostille.
Additional insurance requirements: Exclusively, applicants from Taiwan must also submit the official certificate of their Taiwanese insurance written in English.
Mandatory Supplementary Requirements
Regardless of the presentation of the documents mentioned above, the approval of the application is subject to the presentation of the following documentation:
Ticket Documentation: It is a mandatory requirement to present a return ticket already purchased at the end of the 12-month period. If it has not been acquired, the applicant must reliably demonstrate possession of additional and sufficient financial funds to purchase a return ticket at the end of the stay.
Final Considerations
Consular authorities recommend exhaustively verifying the official checklist of the corresponding embassy before attending the appointment. All documents must be submitted in original along with a complete set of simple copies.
