Compliance with health requirements is a mandatory step for all foreigners wishing to apply for temporary residency under youth mobility agreements in Chile. The National Migration Service (SERMIG) requires the submission of an official medical accreditation to ensure that the applicant does not represent a risk to public health and is in optimal condition for their stay in the country.

Technical requirements for the health certificate
The regulation is cross-cutting and applicable to all nationalities with a current agreement. For the file to be admitted into the digital platform, the applicant must upload a Medical Certificate that strictly complies with the following criteria:
Professional emission: The document must be issued and signed by a licensed physician. It is essential that the professional's signature and stamp are legible.
Strict validity: The certificate must have a maximum age of 30 days at the time of application. Documents with earlier issuance dates will be automatically rejected by the system.
Health declaration: The text of the certificate must explicitly certify that the applicant is in good health and, specifically, that they are not a carrier of any infectious or contagious disease.
Document validation and language
Following SERMIG's general documentation rules, if the medical certificate is issued in a language other than Spanish or English, it must be accompanied by an official translation. Additionally, depending on the country of origin, it is recommended that the document has the corresponding apostille to validate the health professional's signature before Chilean authorities.
It is the applicant's responsibility to verify that the format of the certificate complies with international health standards to avoid delays in the analysis of their vacation and work visa application.
